Trial begins for Ottawa officer accused of cellblock sexual assault

The sexual assault trial for an Ottawa police sergeant accused of cutting off the clothes of a female prisoner begins in Ottawa court Monday. Sgt. Steven Desjourdy was charged with sex assault by the province’s Special Investigations Unit following their review of cellblock surveillance video of the September 2008 incident.
