Drunk driver pleads guilty in death of mother of twins in Constance Bay hit-and-run

OTTAWA — A young driver who had been drinking all day and still had an open can of Molson Canadian in the console next to him when he struck and killed the mother of twin five-year-old boys pleaded guilty Monday to impaired driving and fleeing the scene of the fatal crash. Jeremy Rees, 23, admitted he was driving fast and fiddling with the stereo on Bayview Road when he lost control of his blue Subaru and hit Erin Vance while driving home from the bar just after 2 a.m. on the morning after St. Patrick’s Day.
