Ottawa tests a second insecticide for emerald ash borer

The city has a new weapon in its struggle to hold back the emerald ash borer invasion, but now it needs time to test it. And the tree-killing beetle is moving fast. Ash borers have moved into Barrhaven, Kanata North, Fitzroy Harbour, Stittsville, Richmond, Manotick, Metcalfe, Vernon, Vars and Navan, civic officials said Monday. Most in rural areas are still at low concentrations.
