Eve Boyle, now 49, has not seen her father since the age of two. She never really understood why. It’s not something her mother, who died more than 10 years ago, discussed with her five children. What Boyle did know was that her father died alone in Winnipeg in 1978, while the rest of the family continued to live in Ottawa.
