Fallen officers honoured by thousands in the rain on Parliament Hill

OTTAWA — Thousands stood in a misty rain on Parliament Hill Sunday morning to pay their respects to police officers and peace officers who died while doing their jobs. Spectators shielded themselves with umbrellas and raincoats as hundreds of officers from across the country stood in neat rows on the lawn wearing the uniform of their local police force as part of the 35th Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Annual Memorial Service.
