Visiting scholar: Do I need to pay the income tax?

<HTML>I am NOT a landed immigrant and currently working in National Research Council as a visiting scholar with a work visa. For my case, do I need to pay the income tax of year 2000?

I was told there was an agreement or something similar between Chinese and Canadian government which says clearly about the tax issue. Is there anyone out there knows about that?

<HTML>Yes, you do not have to pay, but you have to file it. Check with the international tax office. The treaty chould be article No. 90 or 99 something..
