City of Ottawa plans another open-data app contest

Another open-data contest is planned as the city looks to improve the way it offers raw information that developers can use to make helpful apps. Staff intend to improve the “portal” where city data is available. A “more sophisticated solution” is needed as the catalogue has grown in size and complexity with an increased number of data sets that require more frequent updates, says a report to council’s IT subcommittee, which meets Monday.
