Ottawa housing starts fall off in September

Builders in the capital started fewer homes in September than they did during the same month last year as cautious consumers continued to scale back on purchases. According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp., 512 homes were started in Ottawa last month, compared with 627 during the same month in 2011.
