Bankrupt Montessori school-day care owes families $350,000

OTTAWA — The Canadian Montessori Academy and Tiny Tots day care, which collapsed under a pile of debt in July, has left unsecured creditors owed $875,000, an Ottawa court heard Thursday. Included is about $350,000 owed to parents who paid in advance for the current school year and, in some cases, next year as well. Other non-secured creditors are a mix of utility companies, credit card companies and merchants all left with bills unpaid.
