OTTAWA — In the coming weeks, an engraver will visit Notre Dame Cemetery on Montreal Road to add a single line to Frederick Pantalone’s headstone: “Lieutenant, Ottawa Fire Department.” It will mark the end of a 70-year-old saga that saw the Italian-born Pantalone interned in a wartime camp for “enemy aliens” and stripped of his job with the fire department.
