Shelter for abused women set to reopen next week

Ottawa’s troubled Nelson House, the shelter for abused women that closed in May amid concerns about its financial viability, is set to reopen at the end of the month. Alison Campbell, co-chair of the shelter’s new board of directors, said Monday that after renegotiating a staff contract and tightening the budget, Nelson House will be back in business Oct. 29.
