Death of man who ‘always wanted to help everybody’ leaves family devastated

OTTAWA — A 46 year-old garbage collector man who died Tuesday after he was struck by a vehicle on Greenbank Road was planning to get engaged to his girlfriend, said a family member. Rocco D’Angelo was crossing Greenbank Road near Barnsdale Road around 1 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. He suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital late Tuesday night, said police.
