Brockville chief promises fight over fate of city police force

OTTAWA — The Brockville Police Service could become the latest municipal police force in the province to be wound down and replaced by the Ontario Provincial Police — but it won’t happen without a fight, the city’s chief says. Brockville Mayor David Henderson told a city council meeting Tuesday he wants to ask the OPP how much money the city would save if the provincial force took over the job.
