Fire causes $120,000 damage to home

Quick work by firefighters kept a Bells Corners home from being consumed by fire Sunday afternoon, although the residence was still significantly damaged. Fire crews responded to reports of black smoke coming from the basement of the home on Longwood Avenue at 5:11 p.m. In just under a half hour, the fire was under control. Damage to the home was estimated at $120,000, with an additional $60,000 estimated damage to contents.
