该不该换rotor

Dearler说rotor有磨损,要把前刹车和rotor都换了。前天在Wak-Mart换轮胎,那里的工人说rotor没有问题,不必换。

真是闹不清谁说得对了,各位大侠说到底该不该换rotor?

To the best of my knowledge, rotor has nothing to do with the brake. The rotor is used for distributer (oil system).
 
点火系统有个东西叫ROTOR,煞车盘也叫ROTOR :) 不过好像WAL MART没有换煞车的业务吧 :confused: 那他们说的话自然权威性低些 :)

As far as I know, Rotor is the brake disk. If the thickness is below the standard then it need to be replaced.
 
This is a typical situation most car owner will face.

In my opinion, usually dealer or big franchise garage has higher standard (plus they want to grab more money from you). For example, if there are 50% left on the item, they will ask to change. But in fact such item may be able to run safely with 20% left. This is an example.

On the other hand, if you know a mechanic well, and he will tell you the true story. In general, if the part is original or genuine, it should have longer lifespan/liability than an after-market one.

Car owner need to feel how confident at which level to change the part. If you are not confident, or don't have time to investigate, then change it now. Otherwise, try to find someone or small garage which you could trust and get the truth story.

At the end, it is the owner's responsability to make sure the car is safe. Opinions from others are just opinions, including mine :).
 
综合大家的观点, 还是换rotor吧。虽然咱有可能当了冤大头。
不过我觉得这个dealer还比较可信,上次他建议我做四轮定位,我没做,我现在后悔了。因为我发现轮胎磨的不均衡,所以外侧都磨平了,中间部分磨损不大,但也只能换轮胎了。所以我换完轮胎要赶紧去做四轮定位。顺便换刹车。这一下要破费小一千块,好心痛。
 
一般来讲,ROTOR和PAD最好一起换,否则有新有旧,很容易加速新部件的磨损速度,就象新旧电池混用一样:)
