OC Transpo ends fines for riders who forget to write ID numbers on passes

OC Transpo is dropping a widely-loathed policy that fines riders $125 for not bothering to write their permanent rider ID number on the paper passes that regular passengers buy each month. Coun. Diane Deans, who chairs the city’s transit commission, announced the change at the end of a commission meeting Monday.
