‘Persuasive’ fraudster targeting Gatineau businesses with empty gas tank ploy

Gatineau police are looking for a “very persistent and very persuasive” man they suspect of using an elaborate scheme to defraud local businesses of cash. In a news release Thursday, police describe the man as a “portly” white male in his 40s, five-foot seven, weighing about 230 lbs. He speaks French, has brown and grey hair and police say he “always wears a cap or a hat.”
