Gatineau stove fire causes $15,000 in damage

OTTAWA — A forgotten pot left on a stove gave residents on the fourth floor of an apartment building quite a scare, said Gatineau Fire Service. Fire crews responded to 56 Matapédia St. around 9:03 p.m. Friday evening after the fire began in the pot. The fire spread to the kitchen cabinets, but occupants of the unit were able to put out the flames with an extinguisher before fire crews arrived.
