His staff did nothing wrong by working with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. to put a proposal for a new Ottawa casino to councillors with just a week of public discussion, Mayor Jim Watson said Monday. The fact the mayor’s office, not the OLG, decided to give councillors only a short time before they had to vote on the idea of a major gambling expansion was revealed in the Citizen, based on documents released under access-to-information legislation.
