Crews blast ice to recover car, body submerged at Fitzroy

Emergency crews were using explosives Monday to clear ice that was hampering efforts to recover a car and the male body it contains from the Ottawa River at Fitzroy. Ottawa police said the ice was too thin to support equipment to saw through the ice and create an opening for the car to be pulled from about nine metres of water near the dock of the Fitzroy-Quyon ferry.
