Five thousand without power in Stittsville, Richmond, Beaverbrook and Munster

OTTAWA — Nearly 5,000 Hydro Ottawa customers in the Richmond, Beaverbrook, Munster and Stittsville areas are without power at this hour. The cause of the outage is under investigation, but the utility is performing emergency switching to restore service where possible. Hydro Ottawa anticipates power being restored by 3 p.m., according to a spokesman.
