Reports of the death of the old diesel Quyon ferries were, if not greatly exaggerated, then at least somewhat premature. Higher-than-expected costs for a new ferry service have forced operator Don McColgan to delay for a year the maiden voyage of a new 215-ton, 21-car cable ferry.
