OTTAWA — A man in his 60s suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday afternoon after hitting his head on the Rideau River ice while playing hockey. The man was not wearing a helmet. Paramedics said the man was knocked immediately unconscious after falling during the pickup game with friends and family in Oxford on Rideau Township, west of Kemptville. The accident happened about 3 p.m.
