OTTAWA — Kirk Fachnie ran marathons, skied Lake Placid and once shadowed the Tour de France but an unlikely fall during a pickup hockey game on the Rideau River unexpectedly ended his life last week. He was 60. There’s lots to mourn, but on Tuesday family and friends were to celebrate his life as a photographer, public servant and athlete, his wife of 40 years said Monday.
