On behalf of our valued client is seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst for an 18 month contract engagement in the west end of Ottawa.
As the successful candidate you will provide software development and testing services for implementation of a variety of Quality Assurance Test Engineering software process improvements. (This is a Lean initiative.)
Key tasks
• Design and develop software to meet functional requirements, may include graphical user interfaces, architectural components, and database configuration and programming.
• Application client development in a Microsoft based solution set using VB.net, VB6 and MS-SQL Transact-SQL Language.
• All development will be required to follow the waterfall based computerized system life cycle (SLC) process
• Assist in preparation and execution of the software validation process
• Create or update formal software design documentation including user requirements, functional requirements, and technical design documents
• Interact with various users from a number of business and quality assurance area in order understand and design software solutions to meet the defined requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• 4-6 years related application design and development experience
• Proficient with the MS.net architecture and programming in VB6 and VB.net
• Proficient with MS-SQL 2008 R2, experience MS-SQL Transact-SQL Language and writing complex stored procedures
• Experience with client-server application development and Visual SourceSafe
• Very good analytical, communication, interpersonal and technical writing skills
• Familiarity with MS-SQL Reporting Service and Microsoft Business Intelligence solutions an asset
• Familiarity with development following a highly structured computerized system life cycle (SLC) process, including full software validation processes
• Work experience in product manufacturing or a medical device manufacturing and testing environment an asset

4-6 years related application design and development experience Mandatory
