2013 渥太华乒乓球联赛: Ottawa Capital Region Table Tennis League

pongshop.ca is announcing it's first table tennis league. The league details are below. Please organize your team quickly, and register as soon as possible. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact ottawapong@gmail.com.

Two divisions of 5 teams maximum.

• division A is held Thursday evenings 7 pm to 10 pm.
• division A tentative schedule: May 30th, June 6th, June 13th, June 20th, June 27th
• division B is held on Sunday Evenings 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
• division B tentative schedule: June 2th, June 9th, June 16th, June 23th, July 7th
• matches take place at the National Training Centre, located at 18 Louisa Street, Ottawa. Second floor red gym.

For registration, please provide​

• Club/ Organization which the team represents.
• Team Leader’s/ Manager’s name, email, phone number.
• Up to six player names and email.
• TTCAN Rating of all team players and registered in which province.
• The league will verify membership status of players.
• Sum of $160 + HST ($180.80) per team paid by cheque to Pongshop Table Tennis Inc., Suite #230, 18 Louisa Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1R 6Y6. Tel: (613) 733-6272 x221
• Please register early, or by May 5th.

Divisions​

• The highest level teams, determined by TTCAN ranking and/or organizers discretion, will be placed in division A. The next teams registering will be invited to division B.

Match Format​

• A,B,C,D versus W, X, Y, Z.
• each player will play 3 singles matches.
• in case of a tie, a doubles match will decide the winner.

Order of play​

• A-X
• B-W
• C-Z
• D-Y
• C-W
• A-Y
• B-Z
• D-X
• A-W
• B-X
• C-Y
• D-Z
• If tied, doubles match determines winner.

Points​

• Winning Team = 3 points
• Losing Team = 1 point
• From the win/loss difference, the winning team gets 1 point extra per 2 point difference.
• Example, How many points does Team 1 have if their match record is 8W-4L, 8W-4L, 4W-8L, 10W-2L? In total Team 1 has 30W-18L. Team 1 win/loss difference is 12, so they receive 6 extra points. In total, Team 1 has 3 wins (9 points), 1 loss (1 point), and 6 extra points. Team 1 has 16 points total.

• 1st Place: $300 Gift Certificate to pongshop.ca
• 2nd Place: $200 Gift Certificate to pongshop.ca
• 3rd Place: $160 Gift Certificate to pongshop.ca

The decision will be depend on how many teams registered. Half of the teams will be in Division A and the other half in Division B (this is my understanding).
