oak floor from 2-1/4" upto 3-1/4" worth?

Not sure what I should do:

1. which one is good? oak or birch for cabinates in kitchen, in bathroom? or upgrade to Maple ($4000?)

2. builder provide this upgrade(oak 2-1/4" upto 3-1/4") $2250 (only first floor), extra money for upgrade in second hall-way. Worth? make big difference? quality is better?

3. also, should I let builder to install securith system ($455), or just pre-wire ($195), and I buy the key-pad after move in? (do not want security company 监控)

1. 我感觉maple>oak>birch,不一定对啊，你的厨房，厕所也要用地板吗？这些Wet地方，用地砖比较好吧？



2. 3”比2”好不少，值得升级。

Do i have to let builder pre-wire alarm security system so I can use security company late.or security company can install whole system?Thanks.
