Ottawa-Montreal battle takes a classical turn

When the National Arts Centre Orchestra and Montreal’s Orchestre Métropolitain meet this week to perform three concerts together — two in Ottawa, on Wednesday and Thursday, and one in Montreal on Friday — the first thing the analysts will notice is the disparity in bench strength: the NAC Orchestra is carrying 67 musicians on its roster for this home-and-home series, while the Met’s plucky squad numbers just 57.
