求助：教授的interview

一般教授都会问些什么问题呀？
通过电话进行interview会不会效果不好呀？
有interview的机会是不是得到offer的希望很大呢？

有经验的各位，给我一些建议吧。

if he is nt from india, that is o.k.
some native guy is easy to follow. but u'd better surf the net to get some key words about his reasearch, otherwise, ...troublesome.

通常教授对什么问题比较感兴趣呢？

u should do some investigation about what he is doing.
Like his research, his articles.
And prepare the stuffs about it.
And noramlly he will go through you script over some
courses he is interested.
Like advanced maths,and courses related to his research.
If you have some marks not good enough, find some excuse
now.
The most important thing is to let him know you are sincerely
interested in his topic and very eager to be his research.
And let him feel you really like this research topic.
English is not a problem at all. They won't care how is your
english.
And if your previous work is related to what he does, tell him
as much as possible.

What you said is very useful for me. Thank you very much.

But, I have graduated for several years and forgotten partial contents of many courses. I always look for the knowledge when I need to use them. Is that proper if I can't answer such questions asked by professor?

I don't think the professor will ask you questions
about the technical details. If you are already an
expert, you don't need to learn from him. You should
learn to control the topic. Tell him what you are
familiar with and related to his research. If your
experience does not cover most of his areas, show him
your potential ability to establish yourself quickly
in a new area.
I only be interviewed for once. The professor does not
mentioned any technical problems. He just asked my
GPA and TOEFL. And which shcool I graduated. That's all.

I made a presentation for looking for job, I also send this to the professor.
That is why he asked me about it, cause it is exact what he does.
My supervisor did not ask much useless stuff, he went direct to his points.
I think I did not answer very well, but at least I can explain my presentation.
You should have something he wants, I think.

You are so lucky and how was the result going, and how long did your interview last, and did you have some trouble in understanding him?

Thank you for reminding me that. But, you know, thought i have been a landed immigrant, but now i am in China.

What you said is very right, i think. I indeed have something interesting him. Maybe only what i need to do during interview, is to make him sure what he thought is right.

My experience may not suitable for you. Because
I don't have too much experience in interviwing.
My interview is just 5 mins, the professor then
accepted my application. We cannot call it an
interview to some extent.
I think sawol75 is right.
