Ottawa Public Health (OPH) and By-law and Regulatory Services would like to remind residents and visitors of the City of Ottawa’s smoke-free regulations that cover all municipal properties, including parks, beaches, sports fields and adjoining parking lots. The smoke-free regulations, which came into effect last year, are designed to protect non-smokers and children from second-hand smoke, and to reduce smoking rates in the general population.

- Outdoor areas on municipal properties including parks, playgrounds and the adjoining parking lots;
- Sports fields include areas such as soccer pitches, baseball diamonds, basketball and tennis courts;
- City of Ottawa properties and buildings;
- The City of Ottawa’s five supervised beaches;
- All events staged on municipal properties;
- ByWard and Parkdale Market stands;
- Outdoor restaurant, bar and food premise patios.
