In the heyday of Bank Street’s best-known showcase nightclub, Gord Rhodes pulled the strings. A co-owner of Barrymore’s Music Hall, Rhodes is attributed with transforming the once majestic theatre turned Ottawa’s first strip club into a hub for live music, drawing the likes of U2, Tina Turner, Bryan Adams and REM to Ottawa’s tepid music scene.
