Vigils for the victims of the Lac-Mégantic train disaster are expected to take place early Saturday morning across Quebec as well as in the neighbouring U.S. states of Maine and Vermont, but the mayor of the town itself has asked local residents to stay home and mourn privately and has promised to hold a communal event at a future date.
