JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing precise laboratory analysis and monitoring of the quality of raw and finished products, raw ingredients and sanitation system;





JOB DESCRIPTION:



The Lab Tech is responsible for:

· Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards;

· Monitors the quality of all raw and finished products through bacterial, chemical and organoleptic evaluation;

· Performs bacterial and chemical analysis of raw ingredients;

· Monitors temperature and chemical concentration of sanitation systems;

· Assesses plant sanitation and general housekeeping;

· Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment;

· Summarizes and reports results;

· Performs data entry and other lab-related duties as required;

· Performs HACCP related tasks as assigned








REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


· University degree in Dairy Science, Food Science or Microbiology, and/or at least two year post-secondary diploma in Food Processing;

· Previous laboratory experience preferred;

· Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word and Excel);

· Sound communication and interpersonal skills;

· Accuracy and attention to detail;

· Strong organizational and analytical skills;

· Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure;

· Ability to perform with minimal supervision;

· High level of self-motivation and initiative;

· Weekend work is a requirement;

· Ability to work flexible work week;

POSITION: Production Supervisor LOCATION: Burnaby, BC

DEPARTMENT: Production CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

STATUS: Full Time REPORTS TO: Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the sanitation program in accordance with HACCP, GMP and

BRC plans and supervise plant personnel and operations to ensure the processing and packaging of quality products in an

efficient, safe and cost effective manner. The supervisor should also have the ability to make positive changes while

improving employee relationships and maintaining employee respect.

JOB DUTIES

_ Provide leadership, direction and guidance to Production personnel.

_ Effectively use operational data on a daily basis to measure and communicate trends; reinforce positive results and

initiate corrective actions as appropriate.

_ Ensure safety, sanitation, HACCP, BRC, GMP policies are practiced.

_ Ensure Company and Governmental quality, sanitation and environmental standards are met through close liaison

with Quality Assurance and Technical Services Department.

_ Provide training and developmental opportunities and coaching sessions for professional development.

_ Monitor daily sales projections.

_ Prepare and maintain effective documentation as required including work procedures and notices.

_ Schedule equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements are met on a timely basis.

_ Liaise with the Maintenance Department to minimize downtime.

_ Administer the collective agreements and Company policies and regulations.

_ Create, establish and implement plant improvement policies and procedures.

_ Undertake other functions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

_ Minimum 3 years of related work experience with post-secondary education in related field is an asset.

_ Thorough knowledge of Dairy operations with particular emphasis on sanitation and processing.

_ Prior HACCP, GMP, and BRC experience is an asset.

_ Proven leadership skills and strong team orientation.

_ Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

_ Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

_ High level of self-motivation and initiative.
