Day 56: The nostalgia of ice cream

Like Pavlov’s offspring, they come running at the sound of the music, each clutching a bill or coins in their tiny fists, all of them eager to find brief respite from the important things they’re doing — digging for dinosaur eggs, for example, or riding bicycles, navigating online Minecraft worlds or kicking balls of one type or another — to slake their thirsts, and what may have seemed all lazy and calm just a moment ago is turned upside-down by the arrival of the Merry Dairy frozen custard truck.
