Essential Functions:
A Senior Technical Architect is needed to support the design, development and implementation work effort associated with Canadian Government large scale systems integration projects. The Senior Technical Architect must be able to: Design solutions and develop technical blueprints, detailed systems designs, and supporting documentation. Manage a technical team for the design, testing and implementation phases of a complex project. Coordinate the work of a variety of professional resources from multiple CSC groups and subcontractors. Monitor project progress against detailed plans and work breakdown structures and manage customer expectations. Work effectively with client Project Authorities and CSC Senior Management to ensure successful implementation of a technical solution. Establish and maintain good working relations with team members, CSC management and client personnel.
Essential Knowledge:
The Senior Technical Architect must be able to: Analyse complex system requirements based on a comprehensive knowledge of current technologies and best of breed solutions Coordinate and manage the technical work of a multi-vendor team comprising architects, systems engineers, and systems analysts in the design, development and implementation of large scale systems integration projects. Provide sales and marketing support within Canadian Government IT environments Design, develop, and be technically responsible for a project in accordance with Canadian Federal Government IT operational and contractual processes.
Essential Education:
University degree or equivalent experience
Essential Skills:
The Senior Technical Architect will have demonstrated: Superior analytical ability with the demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex technical problems A minimum of five (5) years experience as a technical architect associated with several large Canadian Government IT projects valued at $5million each. A minimum of ten (10) years experience with diversified IT project environments with resources belonging to multiple vendors and client staff A broad knowledge base of information technology A demonstrated ability to manage technical resources to successfully implement the design, testing, and installation of complex systems Ability to perform functions in both of Canada's official languages (English and French) would be a definite asset
Organizational "Fit" Considerations:
Able to work effectively in a large Government environment with varied user groups (operational environments and associated administrative support elements) Able to work long hours as necessary Unrestricted ability to travel
