新华网8月30日电 据英国《太阳报》报道，美国一名名叫罗伯特·达令（Robert Darling）的单身男子为了寻找“真爱”，举着一块自制的牌子孤身一人站在纽约市中心，这一站就是十二年。
58岁的罗伯特目前处于待业状态，每周有两天时间都在纽约的大街上举着这块牌子寻求“真爱”，牌子上写着几行略显迂腐的标语——“我希望寻找一位女伴，聊聊天，逛逛博物馆，听听音乐会。但我无法支付这些费用，所以您最好是一位富有的女士”罗伯特说，一些女士在看到他的标语后会给他打电话，但没有人是认真的。他还说，“（找到她）只是时间问题，我非常有耐心。”
Man in New York seeks love with same sign for 12 years
LONELY Robert Darling stands with the same sandwich board he has walked a city’s streets with on a futile search for love — for the past 12 YEARS.
The jobless 58-year-old steps out in New York twice a week wearing the home-made sign with its well-worn message. He said: “I’m looking for companionship, conversation, to go to museums and concerts — but I don’t have the resources to pay for it. So I need a wealthy lady.”
He said he gets calls in response to his sign, but none are serious. He added: “It’s just a matter of time. I’m patient.”
