Climate change will bring more severe thunderstorms by late in this century, according to a study by Stanford University. Climate scientists have had trouble forecasting the effects of climate change on thunderstorms because the forces that create these storms are still mysterious. OTTAWA — Severe thunderstorms could become 40 per cent more common late in this century because of expected climate change, a Stanford University study says.
