Injured dog makes beeline for Civic’s emergency department after attack

Bella, a 14-pound Miniature Schnauzer-Yorkie mix, was attacked by a German shepherd Friday while out for a walk at the Experimental Farm with her owner, Bruce Simpson. Badly injured, she somehow managed to make it across six lanes of traffic on Carling Avenue to the emergency entrance at the Ottawa Hospital’s Civic campus, where she was treated by paramedics.
