Temporary closure of Pretoria Bridge

Ottawa – The Pretoria Bridge, connecting the Queen Elizabeth Driveway with Colonel By Drive, will be closed to vehicle traffic on Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for fall maintenance work.

The City of Ottawa is undertaking this work as part of its regular winter preparatory maintenance.

The bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Cyclist and pedestrian traffic will still be able to use the bridge but may experience some delays as work is completed on various sections.

The Pretoria Bridge is located along the Rideau Canal and is a unique historic landmark for the nation’s capital. The City of Ottawa is proud to ensure its long term sustainability as an operating lift bridge.
