Starting Friday, October 25, after 7 p.m., Carling Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Boyd Avenue and Clyde Avenue. Campbell Avenue will be also closed at the Carling Avenue intersection.
These lane reductions and closures are required to accommodate the replacement of a section of sanitary sewer. The lanes are expected to re-open Sunday evening; however an additional closure may be required on the night of Monday, October 28, after 7 p.m.
Also, beginning on Monday, October 28, Carling Avenue will be reduced to two lanes in the westbound direction. This reduction will remain in effect until later this autumn.
Signage will be in place to advise commuters of these traffic and road changes. Motorists are also reminded to respect the reduced speed limits and use caution when travelling through construction zones.
The Carling Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement project is a $350,000 initiative to replace aging segments of the sanitary sewer. This project will also reduce storm water flows into the sanitary system in support of the Ottawa River Action Plan, our City’s commitment to protect the health of the Ottawa River.
