Ottawa’s winter parking rules take effect Friday night. From Nov. 15 until April 1, street parking is not allowed between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. when Environment Canada forecasts a snowfall of more than seven centimetres in the city. Vehicles parked in violation can be ticketed and their owners fined. Those with on-street parking permits are exempted.
