Morning Osifu’s Discourse
April 11th, 2012​

是金子就要發光！
If you are gold, you need to shine!
是明珠就要放光！
If you are a pearl, you need to emit light!
已經埋沒太久太久。
You have been buried for too long time.
人到七十古來稀。
It has been rare since ancient times that a man lives to be seventy years old.
數一數算一算我們還能再活多少年。
Count how many years we can live from now on.
釋迦牟尼佛住世80載。
Buddha Shakyamuni remained in the world for eighty years.
剩下的短短的幾十年，十幾年，幾年，我們能為世界、人類、祖國、社會、家庭、他人奉獻些什麼？
In the rest of the short decades, a little over ten years or several years, what can we devote to the world, human beings, the country, society, family or other people?
Osifu明覺為億靈奉獻的有效時間越來越少。
Osifu knows clearly that the available time to devote to living beings is getting less and less.
Osifu在盡心盡力全力以赴為地球、為人類、為祖國、為社會奉獻自己的一切智能，鞠躬盡瘁死而後已。
Osifu is trying his best to devote all intelligence to the earth, human beings, the country and society and sparing no effort till the heart stops beating.
保爾柯察金有一句名言，Osifu一直很喜歡。
Pavel Korchagin had a well-known saying which Osifu always likes very much.
“人, 最寶貴的是生命；它，給予我們只有一次。人的一生，應當這樣度過：當他回首往事時，不因虛度年華而悔恨，也不因碌碌無為而羞恥；這樣在他臨死的時候，他就能夠說：我已經把我的整個生命和全部精力，都獻給了這個世界上最壯麗的事業——為了人類的解放而鬥爭。”
The dearest possession of a man is life and it is given us only once.
The whole life of a man should be spent like that: When he or she recalls the past, he or she feels no torturing regrets for wasted years and never has the burning shame of unaccomplished life, either;So when he or she is dying, he or she can say: All my life and all my energy have been given to the most magnificent cause in this world---the fight for the Liberation of Mankind.’
我們也應當有這種覺悟：當我們回首往事時，不因虛度年華而悔恨，也不因碌碌無為而羞恥。在我們臨死的時候，我們就能夠說：我已經把我的整個生命和全部精力，都獻給了這個世界上最壯麗的事業——為了宇宙的祥和而奉獻。
We shall also have such awareness: When we recall the past, we won’t feel regrets for wasted years or we won’t feel shame of unaccomplished life, either. When we are dying, we can say: All my life and all my energy have been given to the most magnificent cause in this world---the devotion to the peace and auspiciousness of the universe.
大救度是宇宙中最大的公益事業。
Great Salvation is the greatest undertaking of public welfare in the universe.
大救度是宇宙中最大的慈善事業。
Great Salvation is the greatest cause of charity in the universe.
大救度是宇宙中最大的民生事業。
Great Salvation is the greatest cause of people's livelihood in the universe.
有人問如何去救度？
Some people ask how to rescue them?
救度的方式方法很多很多，在這裏簡列十種：
There are a great many ways of salvation. Here briefly list ten kinds as follows:
1、勸人斷惡是救度。
1. Persuading people to cut off all evils is salvation.
2、勸人修善是救度。
2. Persuading people to practice all goodness is salvation.
3、導人向佛是救度。
3. Guiding people to learn from Buddha is salvation.
4、模範德行是救度。
4. Obeying laws to be a model of virtuous behaviors is salvation.
5、現身說法是救度。
5. Demonstrating the Way with one’s own conduct is salvation.
6、環保節能是救度。
6. Environmental protection and energy conservation is salvation.
7、科學發展是救度。
7. Scientific development is salvation.
8、平衡持續是救度。
8. Balanced development is salvation.
9、和諧三才是救度。
9. Harmonizing the Heaven, Earth and Human is salvation.
10、正本清源是救度。
10. Correcting deviation and restoring the origin is salvation.
慈悲救度，我佛本懷。
Compassionate salvation is the real intention of our Buddha.
慈悲救度，Osifu本願。
Compassionate salvation is the fundamental vow of Osifu.
慈悲救度，宇宙本來。
Compassionate salvation is the true nature of the universe.
慈悲救度，繼往開來。
Compassionate salvation carries forward the past and forges ahead into the future.
慈悲救度，薪火相傳。
Compassionate salvation passes on from generation to generation.
慈悲救度，直指歸家。
Compassionate salvation guides all living beings to directly return home.
慈悲救度，億靈歸心。
Compassionate salvation helps all sentient beings to return to the minds.
慈悲救度，利益人天。
Compassionate salvation benefits both human beings and celestial beings.
慈悲救度，苦海行船。
Compassionate salvation is like sailing a boat in a sea of suffering.
鬥轉星移不離天，
億靈流落不知返。
救拔超度歸本源，
回心合道真佛現。
The stars change in positions but never deviate from their orbits in the sky.
All sentient beings are wandering and unaware of returning home.
The purpose of saving and rescuing all beings is to help them return to the original source.
When one tunes the mind to converging with the Way, the real Buddha will appear.
就以此偈《真佛現》作為今日開示的結語吧。
Let’s conclude today’s teachings by the verse The Real Buddha will Appear.
