Ottawa – Beginning Thursday, November 28 at 9 a.m., St. Patrick Street will be reduced to one lane westbound between Parent Avenue and Sussex Drive. This lane closure is part of ongoing construction related to sewer and watermain replacement.
This lane closure will be in effect for approximately two weeks and commuters in the area should expect delays. Detour signs will be put in place to direct pedestrian traffic. Cyclist traffic will be maintained.
Bruyere Street is fully reopened to allow for westbound traffic and will remain open for the duration of the winter construction season.
OC Transpo service for Route 9 will resume its regular route. For further information please visit octranspo.com.
This work is the continuation of the Sussex Drive Reconstruction Project that began earlier this month. This $36 million renewal project will see new water and sewer infrastructure, improved pedestrian, cycling and transit facilities, new lighting and signage. The work will continue until mid-December, with construction resuming in the spring of 2014.
The work being done on Sussex Avenue, also known as Confederation Boulevard, is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water and sewer projects, to build a better city and create jobs.
