Ottawa - The flags at all City of Ottawa sites will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Friday, December 6, 2013 to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
The Heritage Building will also be illuminated in purple the evening of December 6, in response to a request received from the Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women, to commemorate this National Day of Remembrance.
The City of Ottawa supports the many agencies that help women in crisis including Ottawa Victim Services (613-238-2762, email vcars@ovs-svo.com), the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (24-hour crisis line at
613-562-2333), and the Distress Centre Ottawa and Region (613-238-3311).
