Ottawa - OC Transpo is the safe and reliable way to go during the holidays and will once again offer free service after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve on OC Transpo and Para Transpo. OC Transpo will operate a reduced weekday service on December 31 so customers should check the holiday schedules before heading out.
A special holiday schedule will run from December 22 to January 4. Service improvements will be introduced on December 22 and new winter schedules will start on January 5, 2014.
Holiday Schedule:
December 23-24, 27, 30-31: Reduced weekday schedule*
December 25: Sunday schedule
December 26: Saturday schedule
December 31: Free** service after 8 p.m.
January 1: Sunday schedule
January 2-3: Reduced weekday schedule*
*The O-Train will run a regular weekday schedule

Schools are closed over the holidays, so special school routes will not be running.
New Winter Schedules and Service Improvements
Residents can avoid winter road conditions and leave the driving to OC Transpo. Along with new winter schedules starting January 5, several route improvements will take effect Sunday, December 22, unless otherwise noted.
Holiday and winter schedules are available at octranspo.com or by calling 613‑741-4390. Riders may also get automated schedule information up to six days in advance by calling 613-560-1000 or texting 560560 plus their four-digit bus stop number.
Relocations of OC Transpo Lost & Found
The OC Transpo Lost & Found, run by Heartwood House, will be moving to 404 McArthur Avenue on Thursday, January 2. The new location is served by Route 14 on McArthur Avenue and Route 7 nearby on St. Laurent Blvd. Customers may call Lost & Found at 613-563-4011, visit their web site at heartwoodhouse.ca or send an e-mail to lostandfound@heartwoodhouse.ca.
Holiday Fare Values
Families can travel all day with one $7.75 DayPass on weekends and statutory holidays. The Family DayPass is valid for up to six people, with a maximum of two ages 13 or older.
Holiday Office Hours
The Transit Information Centre (613-741-4390) will be open throughout the holidays to help customers with schedules and trip planning, including Christmas and New Year’s Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Boxing Day the Centre will be open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.
The Customer Relations Centre (613‑842-3600) will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and will operate reduced hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 24, 27, 30 and 31, and January 2 to 3.
OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, except the Rideau Centre which will be open Boxing Day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Sales Centres will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m.

- Route 20 will be extended south of Brian Coburn to improve service for new residents in Orléans and to reduce walking distances.
- Route 93 will be modified to serve the new Richcraft Recreation Complex in Kanata North (peak period extensions will continue to serve Hines and Solandt).
- A trip will be added on Route 95 at 5:29 p.m., from Gatineau to Barrhaven, to better serve commuters who work later hours.
- A trip will be added on Route 176 departing Tunney’s Pasture at 4:02 a.m. for improved service to Merivale Road.
- Route 261 will be extended slightly north of Denali to bring service closer to new Stittsville residents.
- New Route 188 will provide the Arcadia community in West Kanata with two morning and afternoon trips that connect with service to downtown at the Canadian Tire Centre transit terminal.
- Starting Saturday, January 4, the O-Train will resume full weekend service, and replacement bus Route 107 will be discontinued.
- Starting Sunday, January 5, a new later trip will be added to Route 98 departing from Greenboro Station at 23:01 in the southbound direction to Hunt Club/Hawthorne.
