Court hears victim-impact statements in teen pimp case

One of the teenage girls thinks about killing herself, and another has left town because she no longer feels safe in Ottawa, where they were recruited, beaten, drugged and forced into prostitution. And on Friday, one of their mothers stood in court and spoke at the sentencing hearing for her daughter’s one-time pimp, a 16-year-old girl who sat still in the prisoner’s box, and under police guard.
