The YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region is pleased to offer POWER OF TRADES - a 6-week pre-employment training program for newcomers seeking a hands-on career in the construction, motive power, service and industrial trades.
Power of Trades offers:
- Orientation to skilled trades and certification in Ontario
- In-demand certification (WHMIS, Service Excellence, etc.)
- Ongoing help with job search and networking
- Work placement opportunities
Eligibility criteria:
- Permanent resident or convention refugee
- Canadian Language Benchmark 6+ (assessments offered at no cost to applicants)
- Ontario resident
- Available for full-time training and work
