It’s 5:30 p.m. and a cheerful chaos reigns. In the kitchen, supper is on the stove; bangers and mash today. Dad, a toddler strapped papoose-like to his back, watches pots on the stove. Mom, another child tied to her in similar fashion, co-ordinates salad and vegetables. The girls bounce around the kitchen, chopping, slicing, tossing and mixing. A toddler, thumbs tapping incomprehensively but confidently on an iPod, wanders through the maze of legs and emerges unscathed. Welcome to the de Grandpré household.
