Eastbound 401 to be closed Thursday afternoon near Napanee for crash cleanup

OTTAWA — Eastbound travellers on Highway 401 were to face another detour Thursday as crews set about cleaning up the mess left by Wednesday’s multi-vehicle pileup near Napanee. The highway was set to close Thursday 1 p.m. for at least three hours while tow trucks hauled away the last five tractor trailer wrecks. Eastbound travellers were to be diverted onto the marked Emergency Detour Route.
