I know that Nissan Maxima is very comfortable. No idea about Acura TL.

Maxima can not generate it own 265HP with the auto trany, but TypeS can with the TipTronic. Maxima definitely is a good car, but still I like Acura TL TypeS better, further, better compare Infinite G35 with Acura TL TypeS.

2003 TL Type-S goes up to 260hp with only automatice transmission available.

However, all 2004 Maxima models goes up to 265hp, with both auto and manual transmission available. Check it out at

and you may have different view on it.
Plus, Maxima's engine is the only one winning "world's 10 best engine" title for the past 9 years !

My opinion on Horse Power: usually they are peak-output, and is generated at high engine speed (like 6000~7000 rpm). How often we will drive a luxury sedan to that level? Unless it is racing.

When comparing engine, I will consider the smoothness of the engine and gear-shifting, plus quietness more important for such luxury sedan.
